Proving to the crowd of
contestants and spectators that he is indeed the
BAYOU BIG DAWG, Jeff Danos, for the second year in a
row, went head to head with the best and remained undefeated. What makes
this so amazing is Jeff's last tournament was the 2005 South Central Regionals,
yet he has maintained the mental and physical acuity necessary at this level of
competition.
It was an incredible week-end with
perfect water conditions, a beautiful site, gracious
hospitality and tremendous performances by the best MM
34 MPH skiers from across the U.S. and Canada.
As in any competitive arena there are
upsets and surprises as was shown when top seed Mike
Morgan lost to Mike Thompson in the first round of the
head to head. As is the custom, the
red
bib worn by the top seed was then passed to the
second seed, David Miller who wore it until the final
head to head with Jeff Danos. David had an
outstanding week-end of skiing and was the only skier to
run 39 off four times.
Many thanks to David and Claire DiPol for
sharing their beautiful site and warm hospitality, to
Chad Scott, Nicole and Eric Baird for their hard work
and dedication in making this a great tournament.
